Client (age 17) was charged as an adult with Criminal Sexual Conduct in the First Degree for alleging raping a 15-year-old girl at a party (client was 15-year-old at the time). Client was pulled out of class and questioned by detectives during which he allegedly confessed to the crime. Mr. Bartish utilized an expert on false confessions to demonstrate that the alleged confession was a false confession and could not be relied upon when actually compared to the layout of the residence and other contradictory evidence. After a jury trial, client was acquitted of all charges.
